Meet Afton!
Afton Adamson is the heart behind Guide ‘N Gallop, bringing years of equestrian knowledge, hands-on experience, and a passion for teaching riders of all ages. Her journey with horses began as a teenager when she trained her own horse, sparking a lifelong dedication to horsemanship. She went on to study Equine Studies at Northwest College in Wyoming and Utah State University, and later expanded her expertise by working with horses across the globe.
Her career includes time as a show groom for Arabian horses in Australia, an internship at a jumper barn in Ireland, and years working alongside professional trainers in Utah, from cutting horses with the Mendenhall's to the Travis Training Center and travels to Scottsdale with Vikki Bowman. She has also guided countless trail riders in Park City, sharing her love of horses with first-time riders and seasoned equestrians alike.
As both an instructor and mentor, Afton is known for her fun-loving, inclusive teaching style. She is deeply committed to helping riders not only learn to ride but also understand horse care, barn management, and the bigger picture of horsemanship. She believes riding is about building confidence, connection, and community—values reflected in every aspect of Guide ‘N Gallop. Through GNG, Afton has created a program where riders can grow step by step, from their very first ride to advanced lessons, while enjoying a welcoming barn family. She continues to seek out new disciplines and training opportunities, always striving to expand her knowledge and share it with her students.
Meet Masey!
Masey has been part of the Guide N Gallop team for the past 2 years. With a primarily English background, she shares her love of jumping and eventing with anyone who wants to hear it. She started lessons at the age of 3 and hasn't taken many breaks since then. At 15, she worked multiple jobs to save enough to buy her own green broke sweetheart, Koda. He quickly learned the ropes of eventing and showing and was her pride and joy before selling him to a lesson barn after she got married. She has taught both English and Western lessons at various barns over the past 10 years and works hard to ensure each rider is taught correct positioning in a positive and kind way. Masey enjoys teaching both young kids as well as adults and is constantly researching engaging and exciting lesson ideas! She loves sharing horses and riding with her two little girls and is always excited to help others fall in love with riding.
